Omaha Orthodontist

Omaha Orthodontist

People of all ages have decided that living with crooked teeth and an uneven bite is no longer an option and are turning to orthodontics as a way of correcting any malocclusions. Our Omaha orthodontist has been helping people straighten their teeth and even out their bites.

The most often used treatment option by our Omaha orthodontist is traditional braces. Braces consist of bonding stainless steel brackets on the patient’s teeth and threading arch wires through the brackets. The tension on of the wires on the brackets gently pushes the teeth in the direction needed. Our doctor will adjust the tension on each tooth during follow-up visits to help direct the teeth’s movements. Often other appliances such as headgear and mouth extenders will also be used to help the process, especially with younger patients. We also use clear ceramic braces for those patients who want to avoid the metal-look. The orthodontic process using braces can take between one and three years depending on the severity of the case. We offer AcceleDent Aura, which is an appliance worn about 20 minutes per day that enhances the effectiveness of braces and cuts the treatment time in half.

Our practice also offers Invisalign aligners. The aligners are custom fitting clear trays, which fit snugly over the teeth and push them gently into the proper place. The Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible so no one knows the patient is using them. Unlike braces the patient can remove the aligners during meals and for brushing their teeth, although they need to be worn at all other times. Our Omaha orthodontist office also offers interceptive orthodontics for young children. Instead of waiting until age 12 or so to begin orthodontics our office will examine a child’s mouth and teeth at age seven to determine if orthodontic treatment will be necessary. During this early first stage of an eventual two-stage process our doctor will do some necessary treatment techniques such as arch expansion, which allows more room for the permanent teeth or use some appliances that allow for greater jaw growth. This is done to make Phase 2, which is a more traditional orthodontic treatment easier with less need for tooth extraction and less use of dental appliances by the then teenage patient. Whatever your age make an appointment with our office for an evaluation to find out how we can help your bite.

Orthodontist in Bellevue

Is it really necessary to see a Bellevue orthodontist to get your teeth realigned? The answer is yes. While advertisements might lead you to believe that you can get great results from one-size-fits-all contraptions without the oversight of a professional, the reality is much different. Similarly, dentist who are not orthodontists do not have the experience and the expertise to make judgments in tougher and more complex cases. Certainly there are instances where Invisalign will be the best option, but here at Long Orthodontics, we’re committed to ensuring that you get the treatment that will be most likely to be effective, safe, and comfortable for you.

Our Bellevue orthodontist also does more than place and monitor braces. Surgical orthodontics are sometimes the best way to deal with the difficulties that you’re having. And the way that children, teens, and adults benefit from braces and other treatments vary, so you will want to be confident that the right decisions are made. Our Bellevue orthodontist begins with a consultation and examination, during which your needs and preferences are taken into account. In the cases of braces, options include traditional metal, ceramic, lingual, Damon, and Invisalign, which is really not braces at all, but more accurately described as a series of aligners. Among the features that may persuade you to select one type over another are comfort, the look of the braces (or in the case of Invisalign, not being seen at all), and how much responsibility you want to take for them. For some braces, you need do nothing but come to our office regularly for a checkup and adjustments.

Straight teeth and jaws that are in sync are both important for your oral wellness and your appearance. Our Bellevue orthodontist will guide you through every step of the process. So contact our office to arrange an appointment.

Orthodontist in 68154

Here at Longo Orthodontics, we’re the one office that you need for your entire family; adults, teens, and kids alike will benefit from our gentle, compassionate care, and our commitment to both technology and personalized attention. Don’t let today’s manageable problems with teeth alignment become tomorrow’s disaster. Our practice is here to help.

Our 68154 orthodontist should see your child by age 7 for a complete evaluation. This is true whether he or she has been showing indications of poor tooth positioning or not. That’s because some issues are not obvious, but can still be causing difficulties that should be addressed. And at about 12 to 14, it may be time for additional treatment so that she or he can be prepared for adulthood with a straight and healthy set of teeth. Our 68154 orthodontist proudly offers various options when it comes to braces. Traditional ones made of metal are still in use today, and they remain a great choice. In fact, they’re more lightweight and stylish than the ones of the past. But you are by no means limited to them. Ceramic braces are more aesthetically pleasing, while maintaining the familiar structure of metal ones. For optimal cosmetic benefit, though, you may prefer to go with Invisalign, the system of clear plastic aligners that are virtually undetectable to the eye. We also have lingual braces, placed behind your teeth instead of in front. And then there is The Damon System, which eliminates ligatures for a smoother and more efficient experience. Additionally, we have Acceledent, which is not a set of braces, but an appliance that makes your braces work faster. We have other appliances, as well as providing surgical orthodontics, when required.

Whatever the needs of our valued patients, our 68154 orthodontist can suit them ideally. Please contact our office to arrange an appointment for you or anyone else in your household.

Interceptive orthodontics in Williamsburg

Interceptive orthodontics is a method of early intervention that through active guidance with jaw development and the eruption of new teeth, results in less need for complex treatments later on. Here at Williamsburg, we recommend that you bring your child in for an evaluation by age 7, or even earlier if you notice any of the signs that we list below.

It used to be normal to first consider orthodontic care about adolescence, but waiting until then allows what would otherwise be simple treatments to become difficult ones. There is definite benefit to having your child get treatment by our orthodontist in Williamsburg proactively. It’s not uncommon for teeth crowding, wide gaps between teeth, protruding teeth, and poor jaw growth to be evident long before the teen years. Some of the most typical indications that your child may need the help of our orthodontist in 68154 are teeth that are noticeably growing in crooked, breathing through the mouth, misplaced teeth, finger or thumb sucking, chewing problems, and sounds made when your child opens or closes his or her jaws. Interceptive orthodontics often means braces, but not always. It can include space maintainers to prevent teeth from shifting into the position where they are blocking the growth of new teeth, for example, as well as other appliances and treatments as needed. The sooner your child gets started, the more likely that she or he will have a positive outcome. In addition to time, interceptive orthodontics can save you money later on. In the best case, your child may not need later treatment at all, though in most instances, some additional work will be required.

While it’s on your mind, please contact our office to set up a visit for you and your child with our orthodontist in Williamsburg for an evaluation.

Orthodontic services in Omaha

There are few more satisfying things you can do for the look of your smile and your own comfort than to get your teeth straightened if you need to. At Longo Orthodontics, our goal is to help you decide from between the two excellent and effective methods we make available, and then to use that option to guide your teeth into a more ideal position. Our orthodontist in Omaha will be more than happy to help you decide which type of braces are ideal for you.

The pros of metal braces include having over a century of history behind them, as well as being the best treatment for some of the more complex cases of misaligned teeth. In addition, their fixed nature eliminates any obligation on your part to know when to take them out and when to put them back in. They stay in 24/7, always working on your behalf. Metal braces are more lightweight and stylish today thanks to the advancements that have been made over the past decade or so. As for the cons, well you have to restrict eating certain types of foods during treatment with metal braces. Sticky and chewy items could be caught in your braces, while crunchy ones could cause damage to them. Also, there is the chance, especially early on, that your braces might cause mouth soreness or irritation. Invisalign eliminates discomfort with plastic construction. It’s removable, so you can eat all your favorites. And it’s invisible, so no one can see that you’re having your teeth straightened. The only real con would be that if you do not think you are disciplined enough to keep your aligners in when they’re supposed to be, Invisalign’s removability might not be right for you.
